ZOE'S GHANA KITCHEN: POP-UP RESTAURANT IN THE SKYROOM

Yesterday evening was my first culinary introduction to Ghanaian food, via Zoe's Ghana Kitchen, woop! I begin with my favourite (in accordance with this rule), the dessert: Chin Chin Banoffee pie, otherwise known as all sorts of yumminess, with a sweet honey tasting base & a sprinkle of chilli & chocolate flakes scattered over the thick creamy pudding.

We sampled a couple of the cocktails du jour: involving lime, ginger beer, & the special Alomo bitters (allegedly purported to boost fertility, particularly in men!)

Opting for the street food menu, we enjoyed the smoky spicy Suya beef kebabs with Scotch Bonnet coleslaw, plus the Benachin - Jollof rice with chicken plus the Scotch Bonnet coleslaw. The flavours & tastes reminded me of the Jerk Caribbean curries that my housemate excels in, spicy & flavourful.

The meal ended with another shot of Alomo bitters!

Zoe's Ghana Kitchen pop-up restaurant throughout May was in the very cool Skyroom, hosted by Platterform. As well as doing other pop-ups, they're based at the Studio GI in Hackney.
